JOB PLACEMENT

CETA provides employment contracts with tourism and entertainment related companies in Europe, North, South and Central America for those students looking for jobs abroad in order to improve their language and professional skills.

NATIONAL

CETA has a very active and diversified Job Placement Centre available to all students and alumni, allowing students to join the tourism job market taking into account their interests and professional preferences.

Each year our centre seeks out and establishes professional relationships with new tourism companies, providing them the opportunity to contract our experienced professional students according to their needs and preferences.

The international job placement program was established for two important reasons. Firstly, due to the high costs of travelling and living abroad, placement students needed to be remunerated for their international training periods.

And, secondly, the significant number of businesses which needed to employ qualified staff, responding to our placement requirements year after year.

CETA University also has professional agreements with leading hotel companies in places such as the U.S.A., Canada, France, England, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, the Caribbean, etc., so that our students can complete their training all over the world.

Our "star destination" is Miami Beach, Florida. More than a dozen students have decided to begin their professional careers in this marvellous spot. Although some of them have decided to return home after the training period (maximum training period is 18 months), many have stayed on, accepting significant employment offers in the very hotels where they carried out their training.

Melanie Laugisch and Clara Busquets were our first students to receive training in the USA. They travelled to Miami in the year 2000. At present, Melanie is an Assistant Director for the same hotel chain, in the Dominican Republic and Clara is Assistant Front House Manager in the same hotel.

While my vocation for the world of tourism has always existed, I started profession in the sector later on in life alter 11 years of working in a bank. I decided to study at CETA for two reasons: first, for the evening timetable that allowed me to work and study at the same time and secondly, for the positive impression I had of the centre, its excellent faculty, and the attention given to students.

My first professional experience in the sector was provided by the Job Placement Department at CETA and since then I have worked in various positions related to Guiding and Information Services. At present, I am responsible for a team of guides, group bookings and creating itineraries for institutions and public organizations.
