The University College of CETA holds clear 3 main objectives:
To provide excellent academic, technical, and personal preparation of students looking for immediate employment and/or improvement in the professional opportunities available to them within the sector of tourism.
With 35 years of experience in preparing students, CETA has established itself as a pioneer in Spain with its development of a modern concept of training and education of tourism professionals which today has been implemented in many centres at both the European and international level. This concept provides students with the necessary know-how and experience to confront the new realities of the tourism sector, encouraging them to become excellent professionals capable of assuming the challenge of management positions in the sector.
For this reason, CETA, in collaboration with the University of Girona External Relations Services, carries out the important task of internationalization through its participation in numerous exchange projects such as Socrates and Erasmus. To this, we can add our international internship program and participation in various international research projects.
1. To actively participate in research, investigation and studies about the current situation of tourism on a local, national and international level: its trends, impacts and development needs.
Several of our faculty members have written books and articles published at both a national and international level.
The following are a few examples of these contributions: -- El consumidor turístico (The Tourism Consumer) by Luis de Borja Solé; Josep Andreu Casanovas Pla; and Ramón Bosch Camprubí,ESIC, 2002. -- La Guía RACC de Cataluña, La Guía RACC de Barcelona, La Guía RACC de la Comunidad Valenciana (Mónica García Zambrana) -- Fidelizando Clientes (Making Clients Loyal)by Josep Mª Martínez Ribes; Patricia Carvajal; Luis de Borja, GESTION 2000, 1999 -- Turismo y medioambiente (Tourism and the Environment) by Ramón Bosch Camprubí; Lluís Pujol Marco; Joan Serra Cabado; Ferran Vallespinós,Editorial Ramón Areces, 1998
2. The University of Girona Network Several of CETA faculty members collaborate in research projects supported by the university of Girona Network of Tourism Schools. Dr. Ramón Bosch, Director of CETA, was head of the research project "The Use of Internet in the purchasing of tourism products". The research for this projected consisted of a number of colloabaorators from the network as well as CETA faculty members, Josep Ritort y Montserrat Vila.
3. To contribute to and improve the sector's prestige. CETA has always been an active participant in local, national and international tourism institutions and events which require the presence of academics and professionals specialized in tourism-related themes.
